You Overpaid your Real estate agent by thousands of dollars.
Learn how you can get real money back.
What Are the Real Estate Agent Cases All About?
Real Estate Agents charge way too much to sell a house. But you already knew that.
When you hire an agent to sell your house, they force you to pay the buyer’s agent. Why doesn’t the buyer pay for their own agent? And adding insult to injury, your agent offers the buyer’s agent half of the commission, which is way too much money.
But this is no accident. Industry groups (like the National Association of Realtors), big real estate brokerages, and multiple listing services take coordinated action to make this happen. That’s a violation of antitrust law. And that’s what the class actions are all about.
But the lawyers have negotiated a settlement that is way too low. There is simply no reason for you to accept a few hundred dollars for a claim worth over $10,000.
Zimmerman Reed is, therefore, representing a large group of home sellers on a contingency basis. We will fight for full value, and you won’t pay us anything unless we win.
We will help you to “opt-out” of the paltry settlement. Our team will then file a new antitrust case on your behalf, demanding repayment of the actual overcharge. In fact, we will demand that the defendants pay triple the overcharge since the antitrust laws specify triple damages to deter misconduct.
Seeking full repayment will take a little longer than accepting the paltry settlement. After all, you could have your few hundred dollars later this year under the settlement.
But your claim could really be worth 10, 15 or 20 times your settlement.
Are you suing my Real Estate Agent?
If you sign up with us, we won’t be directly suing your real estate agent. We are suing all of the big players (NAR, Berkshire Home Services, Caldwell Banker, and others) on your behalf because they coordinated to drive prices up, and to force you to pay the buyer’s broker. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know who these companies are; their business practices hurt you. And you don’t have to worry that you are crossing a friend or neighbor who represented you when you sold your house.
Did the class lawyers really settle the class action for a pittance?
You be the judge. The lawyers presented damages claims that would total over $40 billion. And $40 billion is a pretty fair measure of the actual overcharge, tripled under the antitrust laws. In fact, we think that number is low. And then the very same lawyers settled for under $800 million. That’s two cents on the dollar. Crazy.
Who would represent me?
Zimmerman Reed is one of the leading class action firms in the nation, with a 40-year track record of outstanding results in everything from antitrust to opioid litigation and NFL concussions to mistreatment of gig workers. Zimmerman Reed will partner with Goldman Ismail, another firm with exceptional antitrust litigation experience, to litigate this case.
What do I need to do?
The process is simple. Right on this website, you can hire Zimmerman Reed and its co-counsel to represent you. Zimmerman Reed will ask for a few simple pieces of information about the house you sold. You will sign a few simple forms to opt out of the lowball settlements. And Zimmerman Reed will take it from there.
Is this worth my time?
You will invest a few minutes of time. And if everything goes according to plan, you will ultimately receive at least 10 times the settlement you are being offered today.
How much will I receive?
We believe that you could ultimately receive more than half of the real estate commission that you paid. Where does that number come from? The damages expert in the Chicago class action says that the overcharge was 1.15% of the selling price. Antitrust law awards triple your actual damages, which would be 3.45% of the selling price. And 3.45% is more than half of the 5% or 6% that you probably paid in commission. Don’t be the home seller who lets this opportunity slip away.
Who qualifies?
You must have sold your home using a Real Estate Agent since November 1, 2020. And the home must not be in New York or in a handful of zip codes that have unique issues.
How will the lawyers be paid?
This antitrust litigation will be done on full contingency. That means that you pay nothing unless we are successful. You sign up for free. The legal team pays all of the out-of-pocket costs, and provides all of the legal services. You only pay legal fees if we are successful.
What is the contingency fee?
If we succeed, you will first reimburse us for your proportional share of our out-of-pocket expenses. We will earn no fee at all on the next $200 you receive. We will earn 25% of the next $200. And we will earn 45% of the remainder. So if you sold a $400,000 home, and we collect $13,800 in damages, you would get around $7,000 after paying legal fees … which is more than 10 times what you will see in the class settlement! Of course, the outcome is not guaranteed; it could be significantly higher or lower.
Is this decision a close call?
Not a chance. The class settlement is shockingly low. And the gap between that settlement and what you could get in court is huge. So if you really need some money right now, take the class settlement. Otherwise, come with us, stay in the fight, and get what you deserve.
